Breeding Barn Vineyard
Our original vineyard site, which we lease from Shelburne Farms, is located just south of the historic Breeding Barn. This site is situated on the sloping shores of Lake Champlain with a beautiful view of the lake and high peaks of the Adirondacks.

Meach Cove Vineyard
Our second vineyard site is located about one mile south of the original site on land leased from the Meach Cove Estate. With a backdrop of rolling hills to the east, this site is very near the Town of Shelburne’s Municipal Beach.

Shelburne Road Vineyard
Our 3rd vineyard site is located conveniently on US Route 7 (Shelburne Road) between the VT Teddy Bear Company and the Shelburne village and Museum. Planted exclusively with grapes from the Northern Varietal Series, this site is also the home of our state of the art winery and tasting room.

NuMondo Vineyard
Our most recent site is located on Route 7 in Charlotte on a 61 acre section of prime farmland at the foot of Mount Philo and with stunning views of the Adirondacks across the lake. In collaboration Sam Coppola, the owner of this site as well as NuMondo Vineyards in Quebec, the grapes on this field will be planted, managed and grown by us for use at our Shelburne Vineyard winery.

Our Grapes
Temperatures in Vermont can frequently dip below zero. And while our summers are short, they are often hot and humid. Grape varieties grown in our climate must be disease resistant and hardy enough to withstand such extremes of cold and humidity.

Our Process
Harvest begins in September. The decision when to harvest is made based on a number of factors, good weather among them. In September, grapes are sampled for sugar and acid levels. When the right balance of sugar and acid is achieved, grapes are picked by hand, gathered in bins and quickly transported to the winery crushpad where a crew is waiting.
