For those moments in between, don’t forget to explore Shelburne’s unique selection of shopping experiences. At the traffic light on Rt. 7, begin with a gourmet coffee drink while you explore Village Wine and Coffee’s extensive selection of wines from all over the world then step next door to Patina to explore their collection of antique and handmade furnishings.
Walk west from Rt. 7 to Mendy’s, a casual women’s clothing boutique. Just beyond Mendy’s is the Shelburne Art Center, with it’s art gallery and artist’s workshop, and offerings of classes and camps for children and adults.
Just steps beyond the railroad track, visit Matthew Taylor’s workshop and retail shop where he makes exquisite pieces of fine jewelry.
On the East side of Rt. 7, begin your exploration at the traffic light with a visit to the Flying Pig Bookstore and the “green” shopping experience at Home Ecology. Then step next door and back in time at the Shelburne Country Store for everything from penny candies, home-made fudge and creemees to cards, kitchen items, toys, quilts and gadgets. A few doors down you’ll find Staple & Fancy, Purveyors of Kitchen Essentials; a charming kitchen shop with a unique selection of items for kitchen, cooking and dining.
Across the road, on the Village Green, don’t miss Jamie Two Coats for toys for kids of all ages.
Just beyond the Green, Furchgott & Sourdiffe Gallery features fine art from a selection of artists. Also visit the Luxton-Jones Gallery, just beyond Harrington’s and across from the Museum on Shelburne Road. For a beautiful selection of linens, china, gift items and fine stationary, don’t miss Arabesque, between Harrington’s and the Café Shelburne, where you’ll find Simon Pierce glassware, precious baby gifts and lingerie as well.
Just north of the village, indulge your curiosity at the Champlain Valley Antique Center (4067 Shelburne Road).
