Lavendula is a femme-led, harmony heavy, folk trio from the rolling mountains of Vermont, comprised of Johanna Rose on upright bass, Henri June on banjo and Lilith on acoustic guitar, founded in 2021. Started as a weekend busking band, Lavendula has since branched out to share their melodies and incantations in venues throughout Vermont and beyond, including the upcoming 2022 Alaskan folk festival, though you may still spot them playing the sidewalks of Montpelier on sunny days. On the way to their first gig, their car burst into flames, it was there, next to the burning car and exploding tires they named themselves, Lavendula. In Feb of 2022, they released their first self titled, mini-EP, 3 covers of traditional and popular folk tunes, with each song featuring a different member's voice. The EP is a tribute to the busking tradition of playing the greats, with a folk-punk edge, and heavenly to dystopian harmonies. Comparable to Mountain Man, the Local Honeys, or another great Vermont act, The Ditrani Brothers.
