Our Environment Is Everything
We Don’t Make Wine, We Grow It.
Our production team works tirelessly in the field and in winery, never separating the two practices of farming and wine making, to ensure that each decision made leads to a better finished product.
Sustainability is extremely important to us. When we put the extra effort in maintaining the soil health and quality of our land, we produce higher quality fruit and better wine.
We implement strategic sustainable farming practices like the use of environmentally sound materials, reduced mowing, and never using herbicides or cultivating the soil.
The land surrounding our vines is full of life. Wildflower areas promote insect diversity, and by refusing to cultivate the soil we significantly reduce carbon emissions usually associated with conventional farming methods.
We create our own compost from any natural matter created in production, recycling any wine spillage and lees back into the earth and closing the loop on our waste production.
The compost is then used to create a compost tea that we spray, along with nettle and horse tail tea, in order to enrich soil health.
In the Springtime, we integrate sheep among the vines, cycling nutrients and further reducing our need to mow.
When we spray our vines, we take extra care to reduce drift (by up to 80%) by using special nozzles that target materials directly where they’re intended to go.
We consider the consequences of everything we do because we care.
