After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, Shelburne Vineyard is excited to announce the return of one of our favorite annual events! On Saturday, November 12, we will present our beloved Harvest Festival, benefiting Feeding Chittenden, the region’s largest and most active organization providing food and other services for our neighbors who are in need of a little help to get by. This year, more than ever, due to pandemic stressors and the rising cost of food and housing, their services are more essential to a greater number of people than ever before. Whether you’ve looked forward to this event every year or have never experienced it, we invite you to join us in supporting our beautiful community.
The staff of Feeding Chittenden will be onsite to greet you and fill you in on the work they do. The event, styled like a small farmer’s market, begins at 11am and will continue until 4pm. Admission is free, but we ask that you bring a donation of non-perishable food items and/or cash that will go directly to Feeding Chittenden.
We’ll have an array of local producers here under our heated patio tent, and in the Tasting Room, who will be sampling their wares and selling them so you can get a head start on your holiday menu and shopping while also helping to support a great organization. Each vendor will be offering a gift item that we will raffle off every hour. Your entry donation of a food item or cash will entitle you to a chance to win one of those items!
Among the local producers you will find here to join Shelburne Vineyard/Iapetus are Bear Moon Botanica, Frog Hollow Farm, Douglas Sweets, Eden Specialty Ciders, Jasper Hill Farms, Shelburne Farms, Wild Hart Distillery, Frolic Goods, and Matryoshka’s Bakery.
The Pizza 44 solar powered, wood burning oven pizza truck will be onsite serving hot pizzas beginning at 11am. They will be donating a portion of their proceeds to Feeding Chittenden.
This event has a proud history! In the past, through your donations, it has raised enough to provide three thousand pounds of food that helped sustain the people Feeding Chittenden serves as we enter the colder, more challenging time of year. We at Shelburne Vineyard hope we can, with your help, do our part to meet or even exceed that contribution and make this season an easier and happier one for our community. We’re grateful for the support of our loyal staff in putting this event together, Vermont Tent Company for their help in sponsoring this event, as well all of you who will attend and have the benefit of sharing. May the season be fruitful, satisfying, peaceful and healthy for all.
