HANDS and Shelburne Vineyard are pleased to announce a benefit concert featuring blues and jazz musician extraordinaire Paul Asbell, along with renowned African multi-instrumentalist Mikahely, a recent transplant to Vermont by way of Madagascar.
Beginning at 7pm on Sunday, June 26, Paul and Mika will each perform a solo set of original music, and then play a third set together as a duo. “Paul and Mika are, both musically and personally, people who I have the utmost respect for….each a kind master of their instrument with a unique diverse storytelling voice. It will be a rare treat to hear them collaborate and speak the universal language of music,” said Joe Adler, Events Curator at Shelburne Vineyard. “The Shelburne Vineyard family is pleased to make this show a benefit for the wonderful HANDS organization so they can get even more food to seniors in need,” Adler continued.
Doors open at 6:45pm. Mule Bar’s food truck will be serving during this event. To purchase a ticket ($10 prior, $12 at the door), please go to www.ShelburneVineyard.com/events-list.
“We’re blending together a lot with this concert---mutual admiration by Paul and Mika, Madagascar’s Independence Day, a HANDS benefit, food and wine at the vineyard…it’s perfect” said Megan Humphrey, Executive Director of HANDS. The sale of each glass of wine will benefit HANDS, whose mission is to get fresh food to seniors who are low-income.
